Getting to Chumphon, then Ranong...

Post by altmtl » 07 Jan 2012 18:04

I'm leaving from Bang Saphan Yai.... and want to get to Chumphon earlier enough
so that I'm able to get to Ranong in time to get the ferry.

Ranong - Koh Phayam island ferry - 9.30 AM and 2.00 PM

Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

Most expats in BS do the journey on a bike, it takes about 3 hours. You can get a minivan to Chumphon though, it will drop you off at the Petchkasem intersection, then you can wait for another one going to Ranong, allow 4-5 hours for the journey.

From what I learned today I can catch a mini-bus from the clock tower at 6:30 or 8:30 to Chumphom - 100 baht. Then another mini bus a block or so away to Ranong.

Looks like the mini bus is 120 baht now.
