He wants to lease a resort for 8,300 baht a month? Surely not.

It's definitely true. I was not alone there. Ask him.
But i think it would not profitably for the lessee.

You are kidding right?

8,300 a month for a beach resort with six bungalows? Imagine the potential if this place was managed and marketed properly with a website and some advertising, spruce the rooms up a bit and open a little bar on the beach - return on investment should be pretty quick.

I see some properties on this website going for twice that - and that is for a single bungalow up on the hill!

There must be a catch.

The story I've heard is that he wants 200k per year for it - 5 year contract so that would be a million up front.

It will need a LOT of work along with that marketing!

Its the sort of property that would appeal to me having stayed there. With the internet, marketing is relatively easy if you know what you are doing. I would suggest its never been promoted in the past. The catch is if you wish to be legal as a farang , work permit etc etc its add ons and not that easy.Maybe in BS the authorities dont hound you like they do in Chiang Mai.In CM foreigners owning busines never have their hands out of their pockets paying tea money.
You would of course only be buying youself a "life style," turning into a profitable veture would be extremely optomistic, be nice though !
