Post by migrant » 23 Nov 2014 23:47

Looking at making the move over next year, and, being a planning type of guy am always reworking the budget.

Wondering building costs, utility costs, etc anything anyone can share.

I also remember someone building a wall and wondering costs

Building costs in BS are approximately 10-12k per square meter.

You'll have to pay 5-6k to the electric and water dept for temporary meters providing the plot already has access. If not it'll cost a LOT more to get power and water in.

it is HIGHLY recommended that you check with someone at both water and electric companies and get in writing what your meters to house will cost and the big IF available. there are some in BS that found out the hard way what it would cost after they constructed their home. and remember this is BS ,do not think you can just install 10 tons of A/C and flip a switch and it work.electricity is supply and demand and a lot of BS is getting more demand and not near enough supply

Agree, reliability and supply of electricity is one of the biggest problems here, we have several outages per week when the overloaded transformer goes bang again and again.
