Current weather and sea conditions in Bangsaphan

Post by buksida » 20 Jan 2009 14:54

How about a sticky thread with updates of current weather conditions in Bangsaphan.

Here are a couple of weather resources:

http://www.tmd.go.th/en/ (Only works in IE)

And this just for Prachuab:
http://www.tmd.go.th/en/province.php?id=71

Here is the satellite picture (takes a while to load):

Some more Southeast Asia sat views:

If anyone has the inclination to do it the old fashioned way (stick their head out of the window) and wants to post weather updates here it would be most useful for those planning a visit.

Personally I'm always looking to get a dive or two in while down there but am often disappointed as nobody will take boats out due to choppy seas.

We went down to Montri's yesterday and the sea was actually calm for a change. I think the weather has actually broken now, the wind has died down and it seems a lot warmer today, The water is turning blue again, so I think the boats should be out.

Sticky & hot in BS the last couple of days. Good time to be on the beach, low tides, calms seas and slight off shore breeze! Good snorkerling weather.

Really warm & sticky now, even the Thai's are complaining. We have had to turn the A/C on just to cool the bedroom down at night. Now is a good time to be staying in one of those cool bungalows on the beach - I wish!! 8)

92 degrees, and partly cloudy today. Talking of scattered showers towards the end of the week. :( We could do with a little rain to wash the cobwebs away!

Well guy's, that's cooled things down a bit, a little rain yesterday, and by god! It's not stopped yet today!

I know we asked for rain, but not all day on our day off!

The ocean was full of jellies and sea lice too so be careful if you're swimming!

Still very warm, feels like 115! Not a good time to be working to hard in the kitchen!

We have had a few Thunder Storms, but not enough to upset the tourists!

What's the weather across the year ?

Post by APACHE387 » 26 Mar 2009 13:33

Hi, bonjour,

I expect to found here the weather experience of an expat across a complete year, so to know if december is generaly windy, october generaly rainy, april hot and so on month by month.
Is someone can do that, it should be a great help for expats coming in Ban Saphan.
Thank you.

The year round weather forcast is as follows;

Generally Hot!! But sometimes it get's hotter than other times!

We usually have clear blue skies (except at night, when it tends to get rather blackish), but sometimes it gets cloudy. Every now & then it gets very cloudy which can lead to rain!

When it rains, sometimes there is a lot of rain and other times not so much! A lot of rain can lead to flooding, so it might be wise to consider buying a small boat!

The wind's seem to come from all directions. Sometimes we have stong winds, sometimes we have no wind and other times we have gentle breezes!

The only thing that we can be pretty sure about weather wise in BS, is that it won't 'SNOW'. :D

All weather information supplied by the BBC!! For more detailed weather information, please contact your local clairvoyant!

Hi, bonjour,

I liked your weather description on BS, I really learnt what the weather generaly be on this region.
I also know on the big flooding of december 2005 and I will bye a small boat as you said, and more seriously I will fill my land with 1 m high of sand.

As you said I will go to get a contact with our local clairvoyant in BS, I allready did that with my wife.
Personaly I dont believe at all about clairvoyant people but my thai spouse was happy to see him.
That make me thinking to a recent movie where we can see a very funny scene with a "magic man", "Body guard n°2" with a very famous Thai actor, I recommend this movie for the Thai humour.

Sad to learn it never snowing on BS, but no matter I will do water ski . (I have allready the ski, missing only the boat) Lol.
