Chumphon bays and caves kayak trip

Lost count of how many stunning little bays there were on this trip, around every headland was another pristine empty beach, many only accessible by boat.

The beaches were largely uninhabited but there are a few basic Thai bungalows further south on Pathio beach and north around Thung Maha.

Strangely there was no coral around the shoreline, there is at the islands out at sea though. I imagine the runoff from all the prawn farms has something to do with this.

In Chiang Mai, a long way from most prawn (shrimp) farms, the price has doubled in the last 12 months.

Might be a good investment.

Large salt water prawns were 800 baht a kilo yesterday at Makro.
