Chumphon

The city of Chumphon is an hours drive from Bangsaphan. It is the place to do more serious shopping if Bangsaphan does not have the goods that you seek.

Chumphon Accommodation
There are several good beaches located here and no end of accommodation options. Three of the more popular hotels and resorts are the Chumphon Cabana, Jansom Hotel and Paradorn Inn.

Chumphon is the departure point for Koh Tao island. The Lompraya ferry leaves daily at 1pm and the journey takes around 1 hour fifteen minutes. The pier is around 25km south of the main city, its well signposted.

Scuba diving
In addition to Koh Talu there are a couple of good dive spots off the coast of Chumphon where visibility and marine life can better that seen on Koh Tao.
