Bangsaphan Restaurants & Bars
Eating and drinking out in Bang Saphan.
Most of the visitor facilities are found in the stretch of beach between 3 and 7 KM south of the town centre. There are a couple of establishments that cater for western tastes in the town centre and a greater number can be found in Hat Mae Ramphueng just south of the headland Khao Mae Ramphueng & Ao Bo Thong Lang just north of the headland.
BangSaphan is not a late night town and most restaurants will be closed by 10:00 PM. A notable exception is Tae’s Restaurant & Cocktail Bar, halfway between the High Street and the railway station which is open until 3:00 AM. This is an ideal spot for stopping off after getting off a train or bus.
Most restaurants will allow you to sit down and only order drinks but it is always best to ask first. There are Thai restaurants of all types all around the town with concentrations in the road that runs alongside the railway where the railway station and bus stops are located and, on the main road out of BangSaphan towards Petchakasem Road about 1 KM after the railway crossing.
All venues are family friendly unless otherwise stated. This guide currently concentrates on the town centre and the coast as far south as the Sunrise Resort which is about 7 KM from the town centre. Both eating and drinking are covered in one section as Montri’s Coco Bar is only bar only venue.
Fish is a specialty and plentiful in the area. Most of the fish served in the local restaurants is caught locally. Another local specialty is coffee. Most restaurants have a pressurized coffee maker and a variety of locally grown coffees can be enjoyed for as little as ß15 per cup.
All of the venues that offer accommodation or other facilities can be found in the Where to Stay or Activities sections of the guide.
